Born to be out front.
Aren't we lucky to have the internet? I received an email from a person at the International Quilt Market, Houston, with a photo of 'Born to be Wild' at the front of the one of the entry doors into the Quilt display. There they were, with the ribbon, my Artist Statement pinned to the curtain. I was awarded, 'Innovative Artistry' sponsored by Janome America, one of the major prizes. I couldn't be there this year for a number of reasons. When I opened the email from Lynn Woll t

QuiltNSW Exhibition and Show.
I made the decision a couple of weeks ago to join my wonderful friend Caroline Sharkey, to go together to the QuiltNSW Exhibition and Show for 2022. We've done this in the past prior to Covid, so it's not unusual. I did manage to get 2 pieces in that came back from AQS (American Quilters Society) in Des Moines, USA, in a nick of time. Arrangements made to pass it on to Catherine Butterworth whom dropped them off to judging. Well that was worth it and I'd like to thank all who

My Exhibition so far so good!
Well I started my week like this.... What fun! Kyabram Town Hall Gallery is hosting my textile exhibit until the end of April and they invited Win News from the local TV Network to come do a story on my work in the exhibit. As a bonus so many ladies happen to come as well that morning which made it even more fun. You can watch the news report here.

As of Monday the 15th March, Kyabram Town Hall Gallery in Kyabram, will be hosting my solo exhibit of Textiles and a couple of Mixed Media pieces for 7 weeks! This is the first time all my works will be hung together in one giant room for display. I am so looking forward to this as I, myself are longing to see them all hang there. Due to Covid 19, lock downs, around the world etc. last year, quilt shows around the world were cancelled. Why do I mention that you ask? So many

Now for something different!
So in our different world we are experiencing right now, I had a brain wave of seeing how one of my more well known and popular pieces would look like in a jigsaw. Then when I found a company located not too far away that could do this, well I thought that was just perfect. Supporting local (Australia) yay....Anyway thinking this maybe a thing. I may do another one or two in the future. Now that the last order is here I do have some to sell. If you are interested in purchasin

Great news again for some works!
Deceptive Markings hanging in Sydney 2019 Recently when I was in Africa and limited wi-fi and some emails snuck through to (drove me crazy not getting everything) I was fortunate to find out that 'Deceptive Markings' had won a prize in the World Quilt Competition…truly excited I eventually found it was 3rd prize in Innovative category. Thrilled to bits I was as this piece is so different you just never know how it will be received. As this year goes on I've been so fortunate

Another win for my Harbour Fenders!
On Reflection - Cape Town Harbour Fenders from the Port of Cape Town. Every year I do my best to get at least one of my textile art works on exhibit at International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas USA. Not all are in competition 4 of them have been in special exhibits over the years and touring. I've been very lucky, last year 2017 I had 2 in special exhibits and 2 in World of Beauty competition. Thought well this may not happen again so I even made the trip to go and see
