Aren’t we lucky to have the internet?
I received an email from a person at the International Quilt Market, Houston, with a photo of ‘Born to be Wild’ at the front of the one of the entry doors into the Quilt display. There they were, with the ribbon, my Artist Statement pinned to the curtain. I was awarded, ‘Innovative Artistry’ sponsored by Janome America, one of the major prizes. I couldn’t be there this year for a number of reasons. When I opened the email from Lynn Woll to see the photo, it felt real.
Lynn sent me more photos of the Wild Dogs and also my other piece ‘Take a Walk on the Wild Side’. This one is of my Red Rhino and the first piece I did with experiment putting holes in my work. So happy to have them both juried into the show this year and blown away to win a major award.
Here’s another photo of my Wild Dogs at Houston. Very special indeed.
Big thank you to Lynn, and if you are there over the next week please make sure you see all you can see of the amazing Quilts, Art Quilts that are on display.
