A wonderful surprise from Dubai

I decided to enter the International Quilt Show in Dubai a couple of months ago after finding it accidentally while searching for something else on the net. Well I’m just happy to have my quilts exhibited, especially internationally. Something that would be I think rather difficult if it was a painting. Anyway to my surprise last Saturday a Facebook friend Mary, who is there at the show posted and tagged me into her post that my Érte’s Bazaar’ had won 2nd prize in the category of Innovative/Art!! I was stoked and later to learn that the other piece I entered ‘Showgirl’ had received Honorable Mention, in the same category. How good is that? Well just made my weekend extra extra special since it was my birthday and already feeling rather spoiled. Well I guess the icing can always be thicker with extra toppings!!

Congratulations to all the winners and exhibitors of the show I believe it was an outstanding array of wonderful textiles.
